A Little History

Those of us who fought in Vietnam know we never lost a battle, yet the political limits we had to live with prevented a complete victory; restricted targets and limits on our troops.  In 1965 before the enemy had air defenses we could have won quickly; then again in 1972 we stopped our bombing campaign and began to disengage.  The North Vietnamese history shows they were close to surrender had we kept up the  pressure.

A quick look at the mid east shows much the same  history, restricted targeting based on political concerns so our forces fought with limited  objectives which prevented a complete victory.   Winning a war is when the enemy quits, we  have not seen that since WW II.

And now we see the same errors in our policy of appeasement  in Afghanistan and Ukraine.  If we don't learn from history we will repeat it.  America must wake up!

Education

There are many books written on our nation's conflicts, I encourage all veterans to make a personal study of the decisions and factors that were used in our conflicts over the past years.  Many of our generals have stood up to political pressure and spoken out, but others have gone along with the political winds of avoiding conflict at all costs.  I recommend reading "The War on Warriors" by our  new SECDEF Pete Hegseth.
